북한 4차 핵실험에 대한 정부성명
1. 북한은 2016년 1월 6일 10:30(한국시간) 첫 수소탄 실험을 실시했다고 발표하였다.
2. 정부는 북한이 우리와 국제사회의 거듭된 경고를 무시하고 유엔 안보리 결의(제1718호, 1874호, 2087호 및 2094호)를 명백히 위반하면서 4차 핵실험을 감행한 데 대해 강력히 규탄한다.
3. 정부는 북한이 어떠한 경우에도 국제사회가 북한의 핵보유를 결코 용인하지 않을 것을 분명히 인식하고 유엔 안보리 결의에 규정된 대로 모든 핵무기와 핵 및 탄도미사일 프로그램을 완전하고 검증가능하며 불가역적인 방법으로 폐기할 것을 강력히 요구한다.
4. 정부는 이미 경고한 대로 북한이 핵실험에 대해 상응하는 대가를 치르도록 동맹국 및6자회담 참가국을 포함한 국제사회와 긴밀히 협력하여 유엔 안보리 차원의 추가적 제재 조치를 포함한 모든 필요한 조치를 취해 나갈 것이다.
5. 아울러 정부는 국민의 생명과 대한민국의 안전을 위협하는 북한의 어떠한 추가 도발에 대해서도 만반의 대비태세를 유지해 나갈 것이다. 끝.

Statement by the Government of the Republic of Korea on North Korea’s Fourth Nuclear Test
1. North Korea announced that it conducted its first hydrogen bomb test on January 6, 2016, at 10:30 (KST).
2. The Government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns North Korea’s fourth nuclear test, which was carried out in disregard of repeated warnings by the Republic of Korea and the international community, in flagrant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions (1718, 1874, 2087, 2094).
3. The Government of the Republic of Korea strongly demands that North Korea, clearly recognizing that the international community will not tolerate North Korea’s possession of nuclear weapons in any case, abandon all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable, and irreversible manner in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
4. The Government of the Republic of Korea will cooperate closely with the international community, including our ally and participants of the Six-Party Talks, and take all necessary measures, including additional sanction measures by the UN Security Council, to make North Korea face consequences commensurate to the nuclear test as already warned.
5. Furthermore, the Government of the Republic of Korea will maintain a high readiness posture against any further provocation by North Korea which threatens the safety of the Republic of Korea and its people.
